The committees include a PR committee, two activities committees focusing on different target groups and activity form, and hopefully soon an educational committee. It total, the team has 27 volunteers who contribute time and effort to events organized by the team. What do we do?The main purpose of the Student team is to organize activities to raise funds for one of UNICEF's projects. Every year another project is chosen by the Student teams of the Netherlands. This year, activities are organized for the project 'Maman Lumière' in Burundi to tackle the problem of malnutrition in the country.Besides raising money for 'Maman Lumière', the team also finds it important to raise awareness for UNICEF and the Student team. What does UNICEF?UNICEF has one challenge: to ensure that every country in the world respects the rights of the children en compliance. UNICEF helps children all over the world to overcome poverty, disease, violence and discrimination. Millions of children go to school thanks to UNICEF. Countless children are vaccinated against deadly diseases such as measles and get good nutrition. UNICEF is working hard to combat the AIDS epidemic and helps children who are the victims.
