The Council of Nursing Students (CONUS) is the central governing body of the College of Nursing. Guided by Ignatian values and Atenean ideals, the CONUS aids the University in integrating conscience, competence, and commitment to foster the development of world class professional nurses, proficient in skills, knowledge, and attitude.The CONUS endeavors to mold Atenean Nurses for God and Country who willspark change leading towards the development of the Filipinos and the Nation.The council shall strive to:Uphold the spirit of wholehearted cooperation in accomplishing common goalstoward progressive development and camaraderie through community buildingprograms and other activities designed to foster understanding, integrity, andteamwork; serve as a bridge for the students and administration, maintaining a harmonious working relationship through genuine participation and democratic representation in a dialogical, consultative, and diplomatic manner; stand as an advocate of each student to ascertain that they are given what is due tothem in accordance to the Magna Carta of Student's Rights, Responsibilities, andWelfare for undergraduate students of Xavier University; promote the academic, social, physical, spiritual, emotional and cultural development of the students, promoting active participation and equitable representation through pertinent and sustainable programs which foster holistic growth; serve as a catalyst in optimizing and actualizing the potentials of each student toward becoming an embodiment of Ignatian values and Atenean ideals in his pursuit of success as a health care professional; engage the students in an environment conducive to the enhancement of knowledge, skills, and attitude toward the development of the community and the nation as men and women for others; and spearhead programs through advocating proactivity, social responsibility, and sensitivity, thus instilling in the students as solid sense of social obligation as well as an act
