CHILDInitiative or Community's Hope and Initiative for Lasting Development, Incorporated is a child-focused, non-stock, non-profit and non-government organization aims to protect and empower children and their communities in the most marginalized situations in the Philippines. Currently, CHILDInitiative works in 1 region, 3 provinces, 3 cities/municipalities and in 45 communities with 44,000 total participant reach including children, youth, parents, community members and stakeholders. CHILDInitiative delivers age and developmentally appropriate, inclusive, contextualized, gender and culturally sensitive and holistic programs with focus on children with disabilities, children in natural hazards, children in urban and rural poor situations and LGBTQI children and youth. These interventions are aligned to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16 - promote just, peaceful and inclusive societies; specifically targeting SDG target 16.2 - end abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence and torture against children. The programs of CHILD Initiative also include targets that seek an end to violence against women and girls (SDG5.2 and 5.3), an end to the economic exploitation of children (SDG8.7), as well as those that aim to keep children safe in schools and communities and to promote peace and non-violence (SDG4.a, 4.7, 11.2 and 11.7).
