Established in 2006, Mary Dinah Foundation ("MDF") is an award-winning non-profit organization with community initiatives in the education, employability, health, wellness and nutrition space. In more than three (3) countries around the world, over 25 team members work side by side with people living through poverty, disaster, violent conflict, and the acute impacts of malnutrition. We are committed to creating global change through local impact and 85 per cent of our team members are from the communities where they work.We bring a comprehensive approach to every challenge, addressing problems from multiple angles. And we go beyond emergency aid, partnering with local governments, forward-thinking corporations, social entrepreneurs and people living in fragile communities to develop bold solutions that make lasting change possible.Mary Dinah Foundation began its focus on nutrition when Mary Dinah, Founder, visited a primary school in Lagos Island where she was born and discovered many children could not afford to buy lunch at school or bring packed food from home. For half a decade prior to this encounter, she had established and grown Job-Link Foundation which is Nigeria's first jobcentre. The organization has trained over 3,000 youths on employability and connected more than 10,000 youths in Nigeria to gainful employment. In collaboration with affiliates such as Microsoft Philanthropies, the Ministry of Youth and Eko Job Centre, Job-Link has now established multiple job centres across Lagos, Nigeria. Realizing the employability of our youths is firmly rooted in the quality of health and welfare received in their elementary years, the foundation is now committed to promoting Zero Hunger across the world and improving malnutrition which claims the lives of over 9 million people every year. Mary Dinah Foundation is a member of the nutrition in emergency committee, Northeast Nigeria sector, and it has responded to the humanitarian crisis caused by insurgents.
