The Hague Jazz festival has become in four years time the best jazz festival in the Netherlands and in Europe, according to our visitors, press and performing artists, and is known as the most successful debuting festival! The Hague Jazz is an intimate and welcoming event with an impressive jazz program and also attention to other genres such as jazz soul, funk, blues, jazz dance, gospel and fusion. Artists that have performed at The Hague Jazz include jazzlegends: Slide Hampton, Miriam Makeba, Toots Thielemans, Mike Stern, Percy Sledge, Solomon Burke, Joe Lovano, but also young talent: Room Eleven, Guru's Jazzmataz, Kyteman's Hip Hop Orchestra, Kraak and Smaak, Wouter Hamel, Brand New Heavies and Trijntje Oosterhuis. The public interest is spectacular: from 8,000 visitors during the first edition in 2006 to 22,000 visitors in 2009! Artists enjoy performing at The Hague Jazz and consider the stages in the World Forum The Hague as their home venues: jazz belongs here, here comes the best audience in the world, and the artists feel that special atmosphere!
