Peteka is a game originally from Brazil that is an excellent source of stimulus for both sides of the brain. Peteka is an unique and fun game that is played for more than 500 years in Brazil. Peteka is a simple and innocent friendly game that doesn't have any physical contact. It is a perfect sport activity because we train our bilateral hand-eye coordination. This is one of the most important physical stimuli which we can introduce and develop for all ages. Players will develop and increase bilateral physical coordination which they will carry on to prepare themselves for any kind of physical activity. Besides bilateral coordination, Peteka is a ergonomic game that also develop attention and concentration, temporal space notion, refine reflex, agility, dexterity, socialization, strategy formation, equilibrium, muscle balance and body symmetry. There is no overload on any muscle or joints and it uses a wide variety of movements in a small area. Peteka can be played everywhere (gym, grass, sand, beach, parks living room, etc...). It's an excellent psychological exhaust to reduce tension and a perfect warm up. Peteka increases endurance due to it's medium to high aerobic intensity properties. We are exhausted and still want to keep playing. I'm a physical education teacher and exercise physiologist for over 20 years and I'm sure that Peteka will spread here in Canada. Peteka is played over 20 countries already. It is very popular in Brazil, U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Denmark, Belgian, Portugal, Spain, U.S., etc... Everybody can play (from 8 to 70 years old) and the learning curve is very fast: it takes only about 15 minutes to learn and start playing. It is really fun, kids love it..
