Construction Services

Start Elevator was founded in the Bronx, New York, in 1992. The family-owned elevator repair, maintenance and construction business has served some of the Tri-State Area’s most prominent property owners. The company’s ultimate aim is to achieve nothing less than total customer satisfaction, superior workmanship and cutting-edge innovation in every single project it undertakes. According to the company’s founding document, “Start Elevator’s goal is to continually provide to our customers the personalized service that has earned us a reputation for outstanding performance in the elevator industry.” Start Elevator currently has about 85 employees. In addition to about two dozen management-level employees and field supervisors, the firm has 15 seasoned service mechanics, five individual construction teams and five experienced repair teams on staff. Due to the 24-hour nature of the elevator business, the company always has a crew on call to address emergencies and unexpected repair needs. Though Start Elevator began in New York City and continues to do much of its business there, the company also serves far-flung clients in suburban New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Start’s 2014 acquisition of Al-An Elevator Maintenance Corporation, a well-known New York City elevator maintenance firm that has served the Tri-State for more than three decades, has dramatically expanded its service capacity and geography. In the future, Start Elevator looks forward to positioning itself as a leader in the Northeast’s booming elevator maintenance, modernization and construction segment. The company’s seasoned mechanics, repair professionals and construction experts are happy to tackle jobs of virtually any size and complexity. According to the company’s records, the firm has handled repair jobs with budgets as low as a few thousand dollars and modernization, construction and retrofitting jobs as large as $6 million.
